Negros Oriental reports one more PUI for suspected nCoV

The Provincial Government of Negros Oriental reported on Tuesday a new person under investigation (PUI) for the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the province.
In its Facebook page, the Provincial Public Information Office said the PUI had been placed under isolation at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital “after exhibiting flu-like symptoms.”
The patient, according to the PIO, has a history of travel to Hong Kong.
On Monday, the provincial government reported that all of its eight PUIs have tested negative in their initial swab test for the dreaded virus.
If their confirmatory tests from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine will also turn out negative, the PUIs will be discharged.
In Bayawan City, four new persons under monitoring (PUMs) have also been subjected to a self-quarantine until Feb. 18. The PUMs, the PIO noted, were found to have recently traveled to Taiwan.
The Department of Health recently clarified that Taiwan was included in the travel ban imposed by the Philippines due to the threat of the 2019-nCoV.
Meanwhile, three foreign PUMs, which included a Polish individual and two Chinese nationals, were set to be released on Wednesday after undergoing self-quarantine.
