The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has decided to suspend the processing of clearances nationwide as part of the measures to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The suspension will be from 12:00 a.m. of March 18, 2020 to 12:00 a.m. of April 13, 2020, the NBI announced Tuesday.
“We will resume our operations on 13 April 2020, unless earlier lifted,” it said in a statement.
NBI Clearance is a certificate issued by the NBI to a person which shows the person has no derogatory or pending criminal record.
The Bureau explained that the move was made in line with the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine and the community quarantines being implemented in other regions, provinces, and cities.
“With combined efforts, we will emerge victorious against COVID-19 virus,” it stated.
“Please observe the strict home quarantine in your household,” the NBI said in a statement.
“Your health and safety is our priority,” it stressed.
