NBI suspends clearance processing nationwide

By Jeffrey Damicog The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has decided to suspend the processing of clearances nationwide as part of the measures to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The suspension will be from 12:00 a.m. of March 18, 2020 to 12:00 a.m. of April 13, 2020, the NBI announced Tuesday. “We will resume our operations on 13 April 2020, unless earlier lifted,” it said in a statement. NBI Clearance is a certificate issued by the NBI to a person which shows the person has no derogatory or pending criminal record. The Bureau explained that the move was made in line with the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine and the community quarantines being implemented in other regions, provinces, and cities. “With combined efforts, we will emerge victorious against COVID-19 virus,” it stated. “Please observe the strict home quarantine in your household,” the NBI said in a statement. “Your health and safety is our priority,” it stressed.
