Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) will deploy 90 bus units to ferry passengers during the MRT shut down.

The MRT shutdown is scheduled on July 4-5, August 8-9, August 21-23 and September 12-13.
The first bus will depart at 5:30 a.m. and the last bus will depart at 8:00 p.m. from North Avenue and Taft Avenue stations.
Southbound loading stations are North Avenue station and Quezon Avenue, while unloading stations are Ayala station and Taft Avenue station.
Northbound loading stations are Taft Avenue station and Ayala station, while unloading stations are Ayala station, Quezon Avenue station and North Avenue station.
Rail replacement will be done and turnout works for both North Avenue and South Avenue stations during the scheduled shutdown.
The shutdown will allow MRT-3 to fast track rail replacement works which is scheduled to be finished by December this year.
Train operation speed will gradually increase from 40kph to 60kph by December 2020, and train intervals will gradually decrease to 3.5 minutes.
The 90 bus units will be deployed under the MRT-3 Bus Augmentation program in coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) road sector and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
