Moreno places Tondo 1 under hard lockdown

(MANILA PIO / MANILA BULLETIN) Tondo 1 district was identified by city officials as having the second highest number of COVID-19 cases in the city. The hard lockdown started at 5 a.m. of Sunday, May 3 and will end at 5 a.m. of Tuesday, May 5. During the hard lockdown, residents will be confined to their houses and only health workers and essential government personnel will allowed to go outside. It can be recalled that more than a week ago, Sampaloc was also placed under hard lockdown to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19. Before the weekend, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso hinted of the possibility of placing some areas in Manila under hard lockdown. At that time though, the mayor said that they were still contemplating that option as they still wanted the people in the areas identified to have ample time to prepare. Before the lockdown, residents of Tondo 1 district were given food packs.
