More than 75% of PNP personnel now willing to be vaccinated

The completion of the first round of vaccination in the Philippine National Police (PNP) has encouraged more policemen to get inoculated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Based on the ongoing survey in the PNP, at least 75 percent of the 219,000 personnel of the police organization have already signified interest in getting the jabs, according to national police chief Gen. Debold Sinas.

"Hopefully, we could reach 80 to 90 percent. We are just waiting for any instruction on the next batch of vaccines that would be given to the PNP,"said Sinas.

On Saturday, the PNP has vaccinated 1,196 of its medical frontliners from the 1,200 doses of Sinovac allocated by the National Task Force on COVID-19. Of the 1,200 doses, four of them were spoiled.

Sinas said they are still waiting if they would be allocated with Astrazeneca vaccines.

"There is still no guidance yet as to the Astrazeneca. We are waiting but probably this week, we would be given," said Sinas.
