More than 304,000 SAP beneficiaries receive payouts in Caraga region

By Mike Crismundo BUTUAN CITY – A total of 304,876 beneficiaries have received the national government’s Special Amelioration Program (SAP) cash assistance in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region. The regional Agency Operations Center (AOC) Task Force for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said a total of more than P 1.5 billion, corresponding 99.93 percent of SAP allocation have already been disbursed by the agency in the region. As for the Pantawid ng Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), there were 6,030 households that were already paid in the region’s 70 cities and municipalities, the AOC Task Force for COVID-19 report said. A total of 73 local government units (LGUs) or 100 pcernt have already conducted payout to SAP beneficiaries in Caraga region. Furthermore, seven LGUs have already submitted their liquidation report to the field office, it said. The SAP aims to ease the impact of the community quarantines imposed to contain the spread of the dreaded coronavirus disease COVID-19 since the middle of March this year.
