More than 17B worth of SAP funds distributed to over 3M low-income families nationwide

By Charissa Luci-Atienza More than P17 billion worth of emergency subsidies have been distributed to a total of 3,011,705 low-income and non-Pantawid Pamilya (4P) families nationwide, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Saturday, April 25. Of the 17 regions, Region III (Central Luzon) recorded the highest SAP payout amounting to P2.67 billion benefiting 411,868 families, while the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) registered the lowest payout amounting to P436,000 for 872 beneficiaries. Region IV-A (Calabarzon) landed the second spot in terms of emergency subsidies distributed to SAP beneficiaries. It distributed P2.26 billion in cash aid to 348,083 recipients as of April 24. Next to Calabarzon, Region VI recorded the third highest SAP payout amounting to P1.60 billion for 268,089 beneficiaries, followed by Region V (Bicol), P1.49 billion, 299,050; Region II(Cagayan Valley), P1.33 billion, 242,860; Region VII (Central Visayas), P1.21 billion, 201,959; Region IV-B (Mimaropa), P1.06 billion, 212,269; Region I (Ilocos), and P1.03 billion, 188,144. In terms of SAP payout, CARAGA landed the 14th spot, distributing P938.12 million to 187,624 beneficiaries. It was followed by Region XI (Davao), P757.68 million, 126,280; National Capital Region (NCR), P656.99 million, 82,124; Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), P570.5 million, 103,886; Region X (Northern Mindanao), P359.16 million, 59,874; Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula), P188.36 million; Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), P141.52 million, 28,305; and BARMM, P436,000, 872. The DSWD noted that it has downloaded more than P79.35 billion to the LGUs, or more than 98 percent of the P80,877,140,500 downloaded by the DSWD Central Office to its Regional Offices on April 3 for distribution to non-CCT SAP beneficiaries numbering to 13.556 million households.
