More COVID-19 test kits donated by Singapore

By Andrea Aro  The Philippines has received 40,000 COVID-19 diagnostic test kits and two ventilators from Singapore's Temasek Foundation on Saturday.
"These additional test kits will supplement Singapore’s earlier donation to allow more people to have an early diagnosis, while the ventilators will be crucial for the survival of severe COVID-19 cases," the Singapore embassy in Manila wrote in a Facebook post. Singapore Ambassador Gerard Ho and Chief of Protocol and Presidential Assistant for Foreign Affairs Robert Borje were present during the turnover of the donations. Recently, the Singapore government donated 5,000 test kits to the country to help fight the pandemic. According to the Department of Health, the donated test kits still need to be validated before they will be distributed in various laboratories in the country. The embassy also reminded the public to practice social distancing and good hygiene habits. As of Saturday, the confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country has reached 1,075 and has claimed 68 lives.
