Middle East-African COVID-19 cases highest among overseas Filipinos

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Friday recorded six new cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) infections among Filipinos in the Asia and the Pacific and Europe and 4 other fatalities in the Middle East.
As of June 5, 2020, the total number of COVID-19 cases involving Filipino nationals abroad is now at 5,361.
Of the total, 2,212 have recovered, 2,788 are live cases or patients still undergoing treatment, while 361 died due to the disease.
The latest infographic released by the DFA showed that the largest number of infections among Filipinos abroad is still in the Middle East African regions with a combined total of 3,346 followed by Europe with 838, the Americas with 657, and the Asia Pacific with 520.
On recoveries, Middle East/Africa with 1,324, the Asia Pacific with 364, Europe with 292 and the Americas with 232.
