A policeman assigned in Metro Manila recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). He’s the fifth person from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to recover.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas said that the policeman, whom they call NCRPO Patient Number 3, was confined at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) where he battled and finally defeated COVID-19.
"We celebrate with the family, friends, and loved ones of our comrade Patient Number 3 for his recovery. We are proud of him for fighting a good fight,” said Sinas.
“We can't be any happier to see him back. His experience is a clear manifestation that the good Lord blesses his cops in the frontlines and strengthens us amid this crisis,” he added.
Sinas said Patient Number 3 was discharged from the RITM on Thursday. “Despite leaving RITM, NCRPO patient number three will be subjected to health security protocols and will still be required to do a 14-day quarantine measure inside camp while continuously taking his medications,” said Sinas.
The NCRPO recorded nine COVID-19 infections, four of them are also recovering. The four, according to Sinas, are now tested negative after a series of two consecutive COVID-19 PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) tests. Most of those infected are frontliners or those securing the boundaries of Metro Manila.
For the entire PNP, there are 25 confirmed cases, including that of the NCRPO. There are two reported fatalities while more than 1,600 are being monitored.
