Mayor Isko warns that he will not hesitate to lockdown barangays not strictly implementing quarantine protocols

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso will not hesitate to impose a hard lockdown on the city's barangays that will be caught not strictly implementing quarantine protocols as Metro Manila shifts to general community quarantine (GCQ).

"I will not hesitate na ang mga area or barangay na magpapabaya, papapabayan itong sitwasyon (I will not hesitate to lockdown areas that will neglect to implement measures amid the situation)… I can lockdown anytime," Moreno said on Saturday.
The local chief executive said that the city needs to take a stringent measures against the outbreak, especially now that the city has already had 859 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
"Ngayon, mas maingat kami at mas responsibleng gobyerno ang mararamdanan nila, at umaasa ang gobyerno na mas responsableng mamamayan sila (Now, our residents will be able to feel a more careful and responsible government. And we trust our constituents that they will also become responsible)," he said.
Recently, the local government imposed a 48-hour hard lockdown due to its high COVID-19 cases. During the course of the lockdown, no residents are allowed to go outside their houses, even to buy provisions, except for those exempted workers.
