By Marie Tonette Marticio TACLOBAN City - Despite having no local transmission, the municipality of Libagon, Southern Leyte has been placed under enhanced community quarantine after three of its residents tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday, June 14. In an executive order, Mayor Sabina Ranque ordered the prohibition of all public mass gatherings, including social events such as fiestas, anniversary celebrations, holy mass, assemblies, meetings, sporting events, among others. "Selling, furnishing, offering, giving, buying, serving, or drinking intoxicating liquor of any kind shall be strictly prohibited," the order said. The "no motorcycle back ride policy" was also strictly implemented, as well as the mandatory wearing of face masks and other health protocols. "Only one quarantine pass is allowed per household. No senior citizen (60 years and above) should be given quarantine pass," she said while citing that all those who are below 21 years old should strictly stay at home. She said that work in the local government unit has been reverted back to an alternative working arrangement wherein they will only be required to report for work for two days, and work from home for three days. "Employees who are 60 years old and above and those who are immuno-compromised are allowed not to physically report to the office, provided that they can physically report to their offices in time that their presence is very much needed," she added. The mayor has likewise ordered to implement a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. for all ages.
