Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Friday afternoon (July 17) clarified that she is not yet considered a recovered coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient.

This came following a report based on a remark by the local government's legal officer that Belmonte has recovered from the disease.
"My 14-day quarantine is not yet finished, so I am not considered recovered until such time as I am fully compliant with the DOH (Department of Health) protocols and cleared by a health professional," Belmonte said in a statement.
On July 8, the local chief executive announced that she tested positive for COVID-19 despite strictly following measures against the coronavirus.
She said she knew that she might catch the virus anytime because of her visits to hospitals and areas under lockdown. However, she added, she feels no regret.
