The Office of the City Prosecutor at the Manila City Hall was placed under a two-day lockdown starting Wednesday (July 15) after one of its personnel tested positive for coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19).
In a memorandum issued on Tuesday, Atty. Rey Bulay of that office announced that the Office of the City Prosecutor of Manila at the second and third floors of the city hall will be under lockdown until Thursday (July 16) so that they can conduct sanitation and disinfection operations.
Employees of the office will undergo testing to see if anyone else contracted the virus, Bulay said.
Meanwhile, the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 31 was also placed under lockdown on Monday after one of its staff was found to be positive for COVID-19.
A memorandum issued by Executive Judge Virgilio Macaraig on Monday stated that the court may conduct teleconference hearings and accept pleadings filed electronically until the lockdown is lifted on Sunday (July 26).
Manila Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) Executive Judge Carissa Anne Manook-Frondozo earlier placed Manila MeTC Branch 30 at the Manila City Hall and the Office of the Clerk of Court at the Parkview Plaza Building under a two-week lockdown starting Monday after two employees tested positive for COVID-19.
