Manila LGU to give on-site booster shots for construction workers

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Tuesday, Jan. 11, has ordered the conduct of on-site booster shots vaccination for construction workers employed in the city’s various ongoing projects.

“Ang gawin natin, mag-schedule na sa lahat ng construction sites natin. Pai-schedule ako on-site para hindi masayang ang trabaho nila. (All we have to do is to make a schedule for all our construction sites. I will schedule it on-site so that their work will not be wasted),” Domagoso said during his visit to the construction site of the 10-storey Manila Science High School on Taft Avenue.

“Kasi ang gusto nila kita, hindi naman pwedeng tumigil sila ng trabaho. Para hindi na umabsent, sayang yung kita nila, papadala ako..... Papadalhan ko kayo ng booster (Because what they want is to earn a living, they can't stop working. In order not to be absent, and not waste the opportunity to earn their income, I will send ..... I will send the booster shots to them),” he added.

Domagoso has been consistently reminding those who are still unvaccinated to get vaccinated to protect themselves from the virus.

The city of Manila has recorded a total of 3,103, 787 COVID-19 vaccines doses administered as of Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Domagoso was also joined by City Engr. Armand Andres during the inspection of the soon to be built new Manila Science High School.

It will feature 158 classrooms, 16 offices, one library, one canteen, one gymnasium, two outdoor basketball court with retractable goal convertible to football field, one rooftop deck outdoor sport and exercise area, five units elevator with 24 persons each capacity, and five stairs node.

"Matutuwa yung mga magulang ng estudyante. First class! Parang private (The student's parents will be happy. First class! It will look like a private school),” Domagoso said.
