Mandaluyong City's New Hall of Justice has been placed on lockdown starting Monday until June 29 after a public prosecutor in the city tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a memorandum issued on Monday (June 15), Acting Executive Judge Ofelia Calo said the prosecutor was found to have reported to the Hall of Justice last week.
All judges and personnel of the Regional Trial Courts (RTC) and Metropolitan Trial Courts (MeTC) have already been directed to undergo self-quarantine.
“Accordingly, no one shall be allowed to enter the Hall of Justice, Mandaluyong City during the aforementioned period,” Calo said. “Nonetheless, court operations during the lockdown period shall continue through their respective hotlines and judiciary email accounts.”
Calo said the Mandaluyong Justice Hall was disinfected last June 13.
Because of the lockdown, all pleadings and court submission may be sent through the respective email accounts of the Mandaluyong RTC and MeTC branches for the meantime.
Calo added that video conferencing hearings that were previously scheduled will also proceed.
