The local government said Makati City has two new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number in the city to 47.
The number of persons under investigation (PUIs), meantime, also went up to 415. The city government said they currently have 231 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
However, the number or recoveries did not go up and remained at three.
The Makati LGU urged those who believe that they contracted COVID-19 to immediately call 168 or (02) 8236-5790.
With this, Mayor Abigail "Abby" Binay urged her constituents to stay at home to help stop the spread of the virus.
She said that the LGU is doing everything to make residents not leave their homes, saying they are also delivering medicines to the most vulnerable residents, aside from giving financial assistance.
As such, Binay enjoined all residents to do the "Otso-Otso" cleaning habit to help in the fight against COVID-19.
She also urged business establishment which are still operating in the city to practice the cleaning habit.
“Let us clean our common areas, disinfect them well; the escalator handrails, the elevator buttons, let us strictly do this at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.,” she said.
