BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.2 earthquake rocked Davao Occidental on Monday, March 27, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at 8:44 a.m. and its epicenter was located 57 kilometers (kms) southeast of Sarangani Island.
The tremor had a depth of 25 kilometers, Phivolcs added.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and no damage or aftershocks are expected.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) also sees no damage or injury from the earthquake.
