LOOK: 400k Sinovac vaccines arrive aboard PAL flight

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) Boeing 777 plane that left for Beijing, China on Tuesday night, March 23 has returned with 400,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines.

PAL flight PR361 arrived at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 in Pasay City. It was 10 minutes ahead of its scheduled arrival.

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, Department of Health (DOH) Sec. Francisco Duque III, and testing czar Vince Dizon were among the government officials present during the arrival of the anti-coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines. Also on hand were Chinese embassy officials.

The estimated 40 boxes of the Sinovac jabs were unloaded from the plane and quickly brought to a storage facility in Marikina City.

The flight made PAL the first local carrier to fetch from abroad and bring home the much-needed vaccines to the Philippines.
