The Las Piñas city government is set to release names of qualified beneficiaries for the social amelioration program (SAP).
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said that city government will also provide financial assistance to those city residents who will not qualify from the cash aid coming from the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD)-NCR.
Aguilar said that as of press time, hundreds of city residents already received their cash aid amounting to P8,000 coming from the DSWD yesterday (Monday).
She said that the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) is currently conducting final validation for other families who will qualify for the SAP assistance.
CSWD chief Junet Barilla said that her office is still conducting final validation of families coming from 20 barangays in the city before posting the master list of beneficiaries.
“We are trying to check that qualified families will receive the SAP once. Those who have received cash aid from TUPAD, DOLE, government employees, pensioners and with employers were not qualified for the SAP,” CSWD Social Welfare Officer III Jingkie Perez said.
It was learned that the DSWD is still conducting final validation at Barangay CAA and about 457 families already received P8,000 cash assistance, Barangay Ilaya has about 350 families and at Barangay Almanza Dos about 190 beneficiaries.
Based on the initial information from DSWD-NCR they have already released about P1.6-million to beneficiaries in Barangay Ilaya.
Barilla said that the DSWD-NCR released a total of P541,904,000 funds for 67,738 qualified families in the city.
