Las Piñas City imposes 24-hour curfew

The Las Piñas City government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the city to prohibit people from going out of their homes unless they have urgent reasons to do so. The city's Public Information chief Jimi Castillano said the city police chief, Colonel Segundo Lagundi, proposed the imposition of a 24-hour curfew in the city to help curb the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure the residents' safety and well-being. The police will also strictly implement the quarantine pass which is one for each family. Castillano said the barangays are distributing the quarantine passes to the families under their jurisdiction. He also said Lagundi announced that those who will be caught roaming around without a pass and first offenders will be brought to the police headquarters where they will be lectured on the effects of the virus. Lagundi also told Castillano that individuals who continue violating the curfew hour will be apprehended and charged. Castillano added that a team from the city's Business Permit and Licensing Office has been conducting checks on business establishments such as groceries and drugstores to ensure that they are following the suggested retail price policy of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
