“I am an asymptomatic patient. I feel okay, I don’t feel like I am sick,” said Chan in Cebuano on his Facebook page.
Chan said he contracted the infection despite his strict observance of heath protocols, such as wearing of personal protective gear and frequent handwashing.
“Despite our efforts, I was not able to avoid the virus since we are up against a faceless enemy,” said Chan.
As of noon yesterday, Lapu-Lapu has 162 COVID 19 cases. The city has 58 recoveries and nine deaths.
Chan said he was already placed under isolation. He added that none of his family members tested positive for the virus.
“I am in high spirits. I am confident that I can recover quickly because I have so many constituents waiting for my service,” said Chan.
