Lacson takes health precautions as household members test positive for COVID-19
Presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo M. Lacson on Tuesday, January 4 had a COVID-19 swab test and expects the result to be released tomorrow.
Concerned Partido Reporma partymates headed by former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez immediately advised Lacson to get plenty of rest and recover from sore throat and other symptoms.
In a text to Senate reporters, Lacson said that their family maid and driver tested positive this morning and a lawyer friend’s whole household also tested positive.
‘’Some relatives also exhibiting symptoms. I got exposed to my son last Sunday. His positive RT PCR test result arrived last night, hence my self-isolation,’’ he said.
Lacson added that he already informed all those he got in contact with and they are taking precautions already.
‘’That’s why (I) included that gentle reminder to my Twitter friends and followers: Mask, Iwas, Hugas (Mask, evade and wash),’’ he stressed.
‘’On top of that, national and local governments must embark on an aggressive mass testing, mass contact tracing and mass booster shots. The process to vaccinate 5-11 year-olds must be accelerated,’’ he pointed out.
Lacson said he asked his swabber who replied that she home-serviced at least 10 households today.
Lacson held a meeting with ranking officials from his political party and other members of his campaign team at their headquarters in Greenhills, San Juan last Monday before experiencing some symptoms associated with the coronavirus by Tuesday morning.
Among the things discussed is their planned trip to Davao del Norte next week for a scheduled event before public health authorities sounded the alarm over the fresh wave of COVID-19 cases in the country particularly in Metro Manila.
Alvarez said Lacson needs to rest and that the trip to his province will have to be canceled.
