The baby girl, who was diagnosed to have been infected by the coronavirus when she was just eight days old, was already 23 days old when she was discharged from the Pines City Doctor Hospital Friday night.
Mae Anne Gabrielle Cachero, 22, was also discharged from the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) at 1 p.m. Friday.
"God bless you and thank you for everything," Cachero told her workmates, composed of the team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers who treated her for 17 days.
"This illness really affects everyone, the young, the old, the healthy, not healthy. Wala po siyang pinipili. Let us all help each other to fight COVID, lagi po tayong mag-iingat at sundin ang mga payo ng ating mga health officials,” she said during the send-off program arranged by her co-workers and capped off with a special performance by Dr. Noel Buccat and the IDB Boys.
She was the fifth healthcare worker in the city of Baguio to have contracted the virus.
