Ilocos Norte gets ambulances from PCSO

By Freddie Lazaro LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – The provincial government of Ilocos Norte has formally received its requested units of ambulances from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in formal rites in front of the Provincial Capitol Building, Laoag City on Tuesday here. (Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc / MANILA BULLETIN) (Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc / MANILA BULLETIN) Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, along with the heads of hospitals in the province which will be the recipients of the donation, witnessed the arrival of the first two out of four patient transport vehicles pledged by the PCSO. These units will be primarily used as additional transport services of hospitals in addressing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related concerns. “Gusto naming magpasalamat dahil dumating na ang request ng Provincial Government. Wala pang mga medical equipment at instruments sa loob  kaya magdadagdag tayo ng mga kulang at kailangan para maging full-pledged ambulance ang mga ito. Yung next two ambulances ay parating na rin so we really thank our friends from PCSO,” Manotoc said. “Our two units were given to the municipalities of Piddig and Vintar, while the recipients of the two remaining ambulance have not been identified yet by the provincial government,” Manotoc added. In 2017, PCSO also donated six ambulances to Ilocos Norte, along with the province of Ilocos Sur and Abra.
