The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) main office has decided to release in advance the salaries of its employees and legal aid clerks up to April 15 as well as half of their 13th month pay.

“As IBP does all it can to help and care for you in this emergency, please responsibly act to contain the virus,” IBP President Domingo Egon Cayosa said.
“Your family, loved ones, and the people we serve wish and need you to be safe and well,” he added.
The IBP made the move as President Duterte placed the entire country under a state of calamity due to the spread of the deadly 2019 novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19).
“The National Treasurer, our Finance Unit, and National Executive Officers are working on the details,” he noted.
“IBP has enough resources allocated for this,” he assured.
Cayosa explained that the IBP released the funds since its employees may “need cash to buy food supply and basic necessities for a longer period (to limit mobility and risk infection during this quarantine period).”
“Please prudently use the advanced benefits and salaries for basic necessities to weather the lockdowns,” he advised.
“Observe the quarantine protocols prescribed by authorities and health experts,” he added.
Cayosa said IBP chapters with enough resources were also directed “to do the same for the allowances from chapter funds that are due to the legal aid clerks.”
