Guevarra working from home, won't get himself tested

Just quietly working from home,” said assured Guevarra who is a member of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). Guevarra noted that he has been “videoconferencing with IATF members almost every day.” The Secretary who is a resident of Bulacan made this assurance following admission of fellow IATF-EID member, Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano, of being tested positive of COVID-19. Guevarra disclosed that the last time he was with other government officials when he visited Malacanang last March 24 at the President’s situation room where he was with President Duterte, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado, and Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez. “I have no symptoms but I'm taking all precautions,” said Guevarra. Despite this, the Secretary expressed not need yet to have himself tested to determine if he has COVID-19. “I'll have myself tested when the supply of test kits substantially increases,” he added. Tuesday night, March 31, Ano said he learned that the test conducted by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) showed that he was tested positive for COVID-19. He said he was tested on March 27 after learning that four government officials he had close contact with also tested positive for COVID-19, among them military chief of staff Gen. Felimon Santos and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia. Ano assured he is doing well and continues to work despite being undergoing self-quarantine.
