The country needs the steady hand of President Duterte during the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.
Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘’Bong’’ Go, a close confidant of the President, issued the statement after thumbing down suggestions that he and President Duterte undergo a second COVID-19 test.

The second test of the two was suggested by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Ano who was tested COVID-19 positive last Tuesday.
Duterte and Go were found negative of the COVID-19 virus in tests conducted last March 13,
"Di na muna. Ingat lang tayo lahat. Patuloy po kaming mag-iingat at parati ko pinapaalala kay Pangulo mag-ingat. Kelangan po natin ng matatag na leader lalo na sa panahon ng crisis,’’ he said. (Not yet. We should all be careful. We continue to be careful and I always remind the President to be careful. We need a strong president during the current crisis.
There were no replies to requests by Senate reporters for comment from Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senators Juan Edgardo M. Angara and Aquilino Pimentel III on their status after they had also been found COVID-19 positive.
Former Senator Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was also found COVID-19 positive last March 30 by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) whose result was released last March 28.
He self-quarantined at his Makati residence starting on March 13, a day after coming from Spain.
Spain is one of the hardest hit European countries suffering from the pandemic.
