The Philippine National Police said it won't shoot anyone dead during the enhanced community quarantine, even if President Duterte ordered them to do so.

(PNP / MANILA BULLETIN) “Of course not, probably the President just overemphasized on implementing the law in this time of crisis,” PNP Chief General Archie Gamboa told ANC when asked if the police force would implement President Dutetre’s order. “We see the strong message, and I think all the PNP personnel understood it,” he added. President Duterte, in his speech on April 1, ordered law enforcers to arrest and shoot troublemakers or persons who will resort to violence during distribution of relief goods. “My orders are sa pulis pati military, pati mga barangay, na pagka ginulo at nagkaroon ng okasyon na lumaban, at ang buhay ninyo ay nalagay sa alanganin (to the police and the military, even the barangay, that if they cause trouble during distribution and your lives are endangered), shoot them dead,” the President said.
