Fontana denies having control over alleged makeshift medical facility in Clark

File photo from Clark Development Corporation and CIDG/ MANILA BULLETIN File photo from Clark Development Corporation and CIDG/ MANILA BULLETIN In a statement signed by Assistant Manager Simon Wu, FDC said the villa “had long been transferred a residential villa to and placed under exclusive control of Shidaikeji Technology Corporation, a longtime locator of the Clark Freeport Zone.” Wu also disclosed that FDC immediately sought an explanation from Shidaikeji about allegations that the villa was used a medical facility to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. According to Wu, Shidaikeji maintained that the villa was only being used to attend to their employees’ needs. “The two Chinese individual arrested by the police in connection with the alleged incident were released on the same day of the arrest, with no charges or cases filed against them” Wu added in the statement. It was also averred in the statement that Fontana’s casino and junket operation in its own properties have long been suspended, even before the Clark Development Corporation issued a closure order for the whole operation of Fontana last May 20. FDC also said that no COVID-19 positive case has been recorded among its employees or personnel of the leisure park. Wu said the 490 persons who were tested with swab specimen by the Philippine Red Cross, through the Philippine Coast Guard, were workers of Shidaikeji.
