By Anthony Giron IMUS CITY, Cavite---Five more coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were recorded lately in Bacoor, bringing the total case number to 124 in the area. Bacoor has the highest incidence of COVID-19 in Cavite province. The neighboring cities or districts of Dasmariñas, the capital Imus, and General Trias were next with 62, 50, and 25, respectively. The municipality of Tanza has 19 confirmed positive cases as of Monday (June 1). The city officials of Bacoor, Dasmariñas, and General Trias have been sharing COVID-19 update reports daily through their Facebook pages, while the Imus government has yet to release its case number report after the last one about a week ago. In its latest report, the local health office confirmed that Bacoor has 124 total cases, with 11 deaths, 68 recoveries, and 45 active cases. The authorities identified the additional five cases as Patients #120 and #121, both male, aged 39 and 49, from Barangay Panapaan VII; #122 and #123, also men, aged 40 and 50, both from Molino IV; and #124, a 40-year-old woman from San Nicolas. Patient #124 was listed by the city government in their Facebook page report as “gumaling na” or recovered. Of the 45 active cases, 39 were admitted to hospitals -- 13 in the National Capital Region, 25 in Cavite, and one in Laguna province -- two are on home quarantine, two in a quarantine facility, and two in a step-down facility. Meanwhile, Rep. Elpidio Barzaga reported in his Facebook page that Dasmariñas has 62 positive cases, with eight deaths and 38 recoveries, 16 active cases, and 138 suspect cases. In General Trias, the city government reported 25 total cases, with four deaths and 15 recoveries, and six total active cases. Mayor Yuri A. Pacumio reported in his Facebook page that Tanza has 19 cases, with one mortality and 11 recoveries, and 90 suspect cases.
