First batch of Pfizer vax for 5 to 11 years old kids arriving Thursday -- NTF
The first batch of the Pfizer coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine that will be used for the inoculation of children aged five to 11 years old will finally arrive on Thursday, Feb. 3.

An advisory from the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 said that 780,000 doses of Pfizer children's solution will be delivered at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 around 9:05 p.m.
The vaccines were procured by the government from American vaccine manufacturer Pfizer-BioNTech, and will be flown via Air Hong Kong flight LD456.
The delivery will arrive ahead of the pilot implementation of the vaccination of kids aged five to 11 on Friday to Saturday, January 4 and 5.
Around 14.7 million children under this age bracket are targeted to be vaccinated by the national government, according to the National Vaccination Operations Center.
There will be at least 32 vaccination sites for the intlitial roll out of the vaccination, which are located in Metro Manila. In the succeeding weeks, it will be expanded into other hospitals and medical facilities in other parts of Metro Manila and in other regions.
"We want it done by phasing or sequence because we knew that this sector is very important and sensitive. Conaidering that it is the first time that we will try the children's formulation, we need to determine of it will be safe and effective for everybody," said vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.
With the inclusion of children as young as five to 11 in the national vaccination program, the government is hoping that it would pave the way for the expansion of face to face classes in the country since the kids will already have a stronger protection from the coronavirus.
