Travelers from the Philippines going to Japan will undergo 14-day self-quarantine following Japan's measures to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Thursday that arrivals from the Philippines, Bahrain, Brunei, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Qatar will undergo 14-day self- quarantine due to the rapid surge of cases in Tokyo, according to a report from Kyodo News.
Japan will also suspend the visas that have been already issued to citizens of the countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Prime Minister Abe imposed an entry ban on foreign travelers coming from 21 European countries and Iran.
Nationals who are subject to the travel ban are those coming from Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Vatican.
Starting midnight on Thursday, all those who have been to any of the 21 countries including Italy and Germany within 14 days of arrival in Japan will be refused entry in the country.
