The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait on Friday said the female domestic worker was the first Filipino national diagnosed with COVID-19 in the Middle Eastern country.
“The said Filipino had close contact with a person who traveled recently to the United Kingdom,” the embassy reported.
The Filipino is in stable condition, according to health authorities.
The embassy, along with the Philippine Overseas Labor & Office-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA), was closely monitoring the condition of the coronavirus-stricken Filipina.
Meanwhile, the embassy reminded Filipinos in Kuwait to stay at home, stay healthy, and follow instructions from Kuwaiti authorities.
