Entire QC Hall of Justice on lockdown following death of agency employee

By MB Online The entire Quezon City Hall of Justice was placed on lockdown starting on Monday until further notice following the death of a suspected coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case who held office in the building. "Upon the authority given by the Hon. Jose Midas P. Marquez, Court Administrator, the Hall of Justice (Main and Annex), Quezon City will be on lockdown beginning May 18, 2020, until further notice," Executive Judge Cecilyn Burgos-Villavert said in a statement on Sunday according to a report from ABS-CBN News. "Accordingly, entrance of any person at the Hall of Justice, Quezon City shall be disallowed during the said period," she said. The lockdown was issued to verify the report, and if true, to conduct contact tracing and disinfection the building, Burgos-Villavert said. The suspected case is not an employee of the regional trial court (RTC) and the metropolitan trial court (MeTC) but an employee of another agency holding office at the Hall of Justice, Burgos-Villavert said. According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the employee allegedly died due to severe pneumonia and went to the QC Hall of Justice building "a few days before dying." For those who wish to file civil and criminal cases and apply for bail, they may file their cases applications through email. The courts may still be reached through their hotline.
