Eleazar approves modified work arrangement for Crame-based PNP civilian employees
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has approved a modified work arrangement for its civilian employees assigned at Camp Crame in Quezon City amid the continuous rise in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases especially in Metro Manila.

PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said the modified work arrangement includes work from home (WFH) for the Non-Uniformed Personnel, depending on the decision of the heads of the units they are assigned to.
“All heads of offices at NHQ (National Headquarters) were already directed to start conducting assessment on how to implement this modified work arrangement without compromising their respective offices’ administrative works and outputs,” said Eleazar in a statement.
The official said they are now conducting assessment to come up with possible alternative work arrangement for its uniformed personnel.
“In as much as we wanted to extend the same work arrangement for our uniformed personnel, the nature of our job makes it difficult to implement the same because aside from our regular law enforcement duties, we are also engaged in other functions that include the enforcement of the quarantine protocols such as the recent implementation of the uniform curfew hours in Metro Manila,” he said.
The assessment on alternative work arrangement, according to Eleazar, comes with an evaluation on whether or not they would suspend the face-to-face classes for the mandatory schooling of their personnel. The alternative solution, he said, is online classes.
While alternative work arrangement is only for those assigned at Camp Crame, he said they are giving the regional directors, especially the National Capital Region Police Office, the discretion to do the same.
“Likewise, we are now also crafting a guideline to modify command activities at NHQ that would introduce a combination of physical and virtual attendance in such activities,” said Eleazar.
“In this way, the risk of infection among our personnel will be lessened since it will further reduce the number of people attending those activities,” he added.
Eleazar said they are also assessing if they need to continue, stop or limit the number of people availing the frontline services of the PNP such as securing PNP clearance and application and renewal of various permits.
