Eastern Visayas records two more COVID-19 cases

By Marie Tonette Marticio The Department of Health Visayas (DOH-8) has reported two new additional coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Eastern Visayas on Monday, June 8. The Eastern Visayas Regional COVID Testing Center (EVRCTC) has released a total of 434 results wherein 433 are negative, while one is positive. Patient EV-52 is a 22-year-old male from Barangay Imelda, Tarangnan, Samar. He is a locally stranded individual from Cebu City who arrived in the province last June 2. The Divine Word Hospital (DWH) has also released a total of 82 sample results, wherein 81 are negative, with only one positive. Patient EV-53 is a 34-year-old male from Abuyog, Leyte. He is a returning seafarer. He is the husband of Patient EV-42, also from Abuyog town, who arrived on the same flight with his wife on May 27. This new update brings the total of confirmed cases to 53 in the region.
