E. Visayas records highest number of new COVID-19 cases in a day

TACLOBAN City- The Department of Health-Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development has reported the most number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in a day with 19 patients onTuesday (June 9).

This brings the total of cases in Eastern Visayas to 72.

The new patients will be tagged as Patients EV 54 to EV 71.

A total of 195 swab sample results were released by the Eastern Visayas Regional COVID Testing Center (EVRCTC), of which 177 were negative and 18 positive.

Of the 18 positive results, six are from Baybay City and San Isidro, Northern Samar; five from Ormoc City, and one from Pastrana, Leyte.

The Divine Word Hospital has also released a total of 65 results where 62 are negative and three are positive.

Of the three positive samples, two are the repeat tests of Patient EV 31 from Baybay City andÂ PatientÂ EV 39 from Tolosa, Leyte.

The new confirmed case is from Calubian, Leyte, and tagged as Patient EV 72.
