In a text message, Duterte's long-time aide Sen. Bong Go said President Duterte will not cease working and will continue to meet with members of the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to assess the government's measures against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
"4 pm meron meeting kami mamaya wid some iatf , finance managers, military medical corps (Later at 4 p.m. we will have a meeting with some members of the IATF, finance managers, and military medical corps)," he said Thursday afternoon.
It was reported that Duque, who is at the forefront of the country's battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, is on self-quarantine and but will be setting up a work-from-home arrangement to continue his work.

In a text message to reporters, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Duque is asymptomatic but has been tested for possible COVID-19 infection because he is "asthmatic and hypertensive."
Duque is the latest among Duterte's Cabinet members to undergo quarantine and testing because of possible COVID-19 infection.
Last week, Cabinet members including Executive Salvador Medialdea, Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade, and Public Works Secretary Mark Villar went on quarantine for possible infection. It was reported later on that they tested negative.
In a press briefing this week, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Cabinet members will be distancing themselves from Duterte in order to protect the President from the disease.
"Kami na mismo, lalayo na kami for his security and safety (We will distance ourselves from him for his security and safety)," he said. "We should be six meters away from the President during the meeting."
President Duterte himself underwent testing for COVID-19 last week. On Friday, Panelo confirmed that Duterte's results came out negative.
