The government has so far disbursed P98 billion of the P100.9 billion allotted for emergency subsidies, President Duterte wrote in his sixth weekly report to Congress on Monday (May 4).

Some P2.614 billion was given to 522,855 employees under the Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE's) COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) for Affected Formal Workers.
A total of 44,878 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have benefited from DOLE's CAMP Abot-Kamay and Pagtulong (AKAP) for Displaced OFWs. To date, DOLE has utilized P459 million for this program.
DOLE has used P993.1 million for its Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) for 254,071 informal workers.
A total of 266,284 rice farmers, on the other hand, was served by the Department of Agriculture's (DA's) through its Financial Subsidy for Rice Farmers (FRSF) program. Some P2.956 billion has been utilized by the DA for this program.
Duterte also gave the May 1 disbursement figures for the social amelioration program (SAP), which the Department of Social Welfare and Development updated Monday.
According to the DSWD's latest figures, over 12.1 million low-income families have received SAP emergency subsidies amounting to P65.8 billion. The total number of beneficiaries served is 67 percent of 18 million low-income households targeted to receive cash assistance nationwide.
Educational assistance
President Duterte's report revealed that the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has processed the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) of 120,798 grantees enrolled in private higher educational institutions amounting to P3.6 billion.
The TES amounting to P480 million for 33 state universities and colleges (SUCs) and 18 local universities and colleges (LUCs) have been processed for release.
Meanwhile, CHED discovered that there are 1,229 students and educational institution personnel who are in need of repatriation and 9,367 stranded in dormitories or schools in the Philippines. A total of 45 students stranded in Boracay will likewise be transported to their respective hometowns.
