(MANILA BULLETIN) "Hopefully, maipamahagi natin itong benepisyo sa mga waitlisted by next week o bago matapos ang buwan ng Hunyo. (We might distribute this cash benefit to the waitlisted by next week or before the month of June ends) ," DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said during the "Laging Handa" network briefing on Thursday. He made the assurance, as Gapan City, Nueva Ecija Mayor Emerson Pascual expressed hope that the second tranche of emergency cash subsidies will be given to his constituents before the end of the month. Pascual said around 22, 549 family-beneficiaries in Gapan City received the first tranche of SAP aid. Bautista informed Pascual that based on the DSWD data, there are more than 687,000 people in Region III (Central Luzon) who appealed to be included in the list of waitlisted beneficiaries. Aside from Region III, except Aurora province, covered by the second phase implementation of SAP are National Capital Region (NCR); CALABARZON; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo; Cebu Province; Bacolod City; Davao City, Albay Province and Zamboanga City. On June 16, Tuesday, the DSWD started the SAP payout to waitlisted beneficiaries in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). Around 266 families from Kapangan, Benguet and 290 families from Baguio City received P5,500 each during June 16 pilot payout activities, the DSWD said. Last week, the DSWD distributed more than P6.74 billion worth of second tranche of cash subsidies to over 1.3 million beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who are cash card holders. In a radio interview on Thursday, June 18, DSWD Assistant Secretary for Policy and Plans Joseline P. Niwane reminded the local government units (LGUs) to immediately submit their liquidation reports.
