DSWD: P12.46-billion in SAP funds given to 17 NCR LGUs; payouts ongoing

A total of 20,233 low-income families in the National Capital Region (NCR) have received their P8,000 emergency subsidy, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Sunday (April 19).

DSWD Undersecretary Camilo Gudmalin said as of 8 p.m. of April 18, the total amount of the cash assistance distributed to Metro Manila households that are non-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) amounted to P161.864 million.
He said the DSWD transferred P12.46 billion in social amelioration program (SAP) funds to the 17 local government units (LGUs).
In a Viber message to reporters, DSWD-NCR Regional Director Vicente Gregorio Tomas said Taguig, Mandaluyong, Malabon, Pateros, and Las Piñas started the roll-out of SAP benefits on Friday (April 17), while there are ongoing payouts in Parañaque and Manila.
Pasig and Marikina City were due to conduct the roll-out and actual payouts last Saturday, the DSWD official said, adding that the implementation of the SAP in Quezon City is expected to take place Sunday (April 19).
"On Monday, LGUs to conduct roll-out and payout of SAP are Pasay, Makati, and San Juan," Tomas said.
The total number of targeted low-income, non-4Ps families stood at 1,558, 615, according to DSWD data.
The breakdown of the P12.46 billion SAP funds dowloaded to Metro Manila LGUs is as follows:
Manila, P1.485 billion; Quezon City, P3.020 billion; Caloocan P1.726 billion; Las Piñas, P541.9 million; Malabon, P335.048 million; Makati, P558.30 million; Mandaluyong, P368.37 million; Marikina, P449.88 million; Muntinlupa, P430.68 million;
Navotas, P223.82 million; Parañaque, P621.39 million; Pasay, P370.28 million; Pasig, P750.93 million; Pateros, P53.65 million; San Juan, P130.47 million; Taguig, P739.77 million; and Valenzuela, P661.66 million.
