DSWD: Over P8.68-B in SAP funds distributed to 1.08-M families in NCR to date

By Charissa Luci-Atienza Over one million low-income families in the National Capital Region (NCR) have received their Social Amelioration Program (SAP) emergency subsidies, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Saturday (May 9). The DSWD-NCR reported that as of 6 p.m., May 8, a total of P8,680,264,000 has been distributed to 1,085,033 SAP beneficiaries in NCR. The department wrote on Facebook that the amount is 69.2 percent of the P12.46 billion in SAP funds downloaded to the 17 NCR LGUs, to benefit 1,558,615 target low-income, non-4Ps (Pantawid Pamilya program) families. The breakdown of the P12.46 billion SAP funds dowloaded to Metro Manila LGUs is as follows: Manila, P1.485 billion Quezon City, P3.020 billion Caloocan P1.726 billion Las Piñas, P541.9 million Malabon, P335.048 million Makati, P558.30 million Mandaluyong, P368.37 million Marikina, P449.88 million Muntinlupa, P430.68 million Navotas, P223.82 million Parañaque, P621.39 million Pasay, P370.28 million Pasig, P750.93 million Pateros, P53.65 million San Juan, P130.47 million Taguig, P739.77 million Valenzuela, P661.66 million. The DSWD-NCR disclosed that of the 17 LGUs in Manila, nine have served more than half of their target beneficiaries. These include Caloocan City (98.8 percent), Parañaque City (97.57 percent), Valenzuela City (94.85 percent), Mandaluyong City (89.48 percent), Pasig City (85.86 percent), Marikina City (83.91 percent), Manila City (78.98 percent), Quezon City (64.20 percent), and Pateros (60.53 percent). Meanwhile, the breakdown of SAP subsidies and corresponding recipients is as follows per LGU: Quezon City, P1.93 billion for 242,414 beneficiaries Caloocan City, P1.70 billon for 213,236 beneficiaries Manila City, P1.17 billion for 146,658 beneficiaries Pasig City, P644.7 million for 90,591 beneficiaries Parañaque City, P606.3 million for 76,789 beneficiaries Valenzuela City, P627.56 million for 78,445 beneficiaries Marikina City, P377.48 million for 47,188 beneficiaries Mandaluyong City, P329.62 million for 41,203 beneficiaries Las Piñas City, P275.8 million for 34,476 beneficiaries Muntinlupa City, P257.27 million for 32,160 beneficiaries Taguig City, P194.2 million for 24,277 beneficiaries Pasay City, P171 million for 21,394 beneficiaries Makati City, P127.36 million for 15,921 beneficiaries Navotas City, P84.53 million for 10,587 beneficiaries Malabon City, P84 million for 10,500 beneficiaries San Juan City, P49.2 million for 6,156 beneficiaries Pateros, P32.48 million for 4,060 beneficiaries. In the NCR, low-income households are entitled to receive an P8,000 emergency subsidy per month for two months.
