DOTr increases free bus ride routes for health workers from 3 to 18; 80 buses deployed

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced Thursday (March 26) that it has increased its routes for the Free Ride for Health Workers Program to 18 from the three initial routes on its first day of operations.

Around 80 buses will transport health workers to hospitals along designated routes and vice versa, at 5 a.m., 7 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m.
The additional routes are:

In a Facebook post, DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran wrote that this free bus service is an initiative of the DOTr in cooperation with the Office of the President, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, Office of the Solicitor General, Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, Department of Health, Department of Public Works and Highways , Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Philippine Coast Guard, and Inter-Agency Council for Traffic.
She added that the service is also made possible by the partnerships with private bus companies such as HM Transport, San Agustin, MetroExpress, RRCG, Megaworld Corp. (Citilink), Precious Grace, Grace Transport, Ceres, Jac Liner, Dagupan Bus, St. Rose Transit, Hafti Transport, Jasper Jean, Pascual, Hi-Star, Pamana, Ube Express, G-Liner, Thelman Transit, Manrose, Pilipinas Autogroup, Beep, Star 8, and automotive company Foton.
"A SNAPPY SALUTE to every stakeholder that made this initiative possible. MABUHAY PO KAYO!" Libiran also wrote.
