DOH: Total COVID-19-positive cases in PH now 1,418; new cases 343, deaths 71, recoveries 42

By Analou De Vera The number of positive cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines has climbed to 1,418, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Sunday. (MANILA BULLETIN) (MANILA BULLETIN) In its latest case bulletin, the DOH said 343 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded as of 4 p.m. Sunday. The DOH also reported three new deaths among COVID-19 patients as the country's death toll hit 71. All of them were Filipino nationals. They were: Patient 859, a 70-year-old man from Quezon City. He had underlying conditions of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and bronchial asthma. Patient 900, a 71-year-old man from Iloilo. He had underlying conditions of hypertension, cardiac disease, and dengue. Patient 718, a 78-year-old man from Manila. He had underlying conditions of hypertension and chronic kidney disease. Meanwhile, seven patients have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 42. They are Patient 204, a 32-year-old woman from Makati City; Patient 358, a 35-year-old man from Quezon City; Patient 135, a 13-year-old girl from Quezon City; Patient 122, a 41-year-old man from Tarlac; Patient 114, a 35-year-old man Caloocan City; Patient 109, a 44-year-old man from Pasig City; and Patient 88, a 33-year-old man from San Juan City.
