The Department of Health (DOH) said nearly 200,000 healthcare workers have so far been inoculated with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said as of March 13, there were already 193,492 healthcare workers who received the vaccines.
"That comprises 34 percent of the 1.125 million vaccines that have arrived," he said in a press briefing in Manila, Monday, March 15.
"The National Capital Region has performed quite well. They are now 70 percent for the first dose of inoculation," he added.
Duque said this means that only 30 percent of the healthcare workers in NCR have yet to be administered with the vaccine.
Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe, World Health Organization (WHO) representative to the Philippines, welcomed the report.
"This is significant achievement as we try to ensure that the healthcare systems remain open and fully functional," he said.
"That is an integral component of reducing deaths in the country as cases surge," added Abeyasinghe.
Healthcare workers are the topmost priority in the government’s national COVID-19 immunization program.
The Philippines already received a total donation of 1,125,600 COVID-19 Sinovac and AstraZeneca shots from the Chinese government and the COVAX Facility, respectively.
