The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 3,792 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) nationwide.
Based on the latest case update, most of the new cases were found in the National Capital Region, Western Visayas, and Davao Region.
This was also the fifth straight day that the daily tally remained below 5,000 and 12th consecutive day of less than 10,000 cases.
Saturday's cases brought the country's running tally to 3,634,368, of which, 2.3 percent or 84,229 are still sick.
Of the active cases, 76,487 have mild symptoms; 3,016 have no symptoms; 2,971 are in moderate condition; 1,443 are severe; and 312 are in critical condition.
Death count also jumped to 54,930 or 1.51 percent of the case total after 76 more fatalities were recorded.
Among the newly reported deaths, 50 happened this month five last January. The other 21 deaths occurred last year: three in December, two in November, three in October, five in September, four in August, one in July, one in May, and two in April.
The late reporting of these deaths was “due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya,” the DOH said.
Meanwhile, recoveries rose to 3,495,209— representing 96.2 percent of all cases. There were 10,662 new survivors reported on Saturday.
