The Department of Health (DOH) recorded more than 5,400 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Monday,March 15.

The March 15 case bulletin of DOH showed 5,404 new cases, bringing the total cases in the country to 626,893.
Data from the DOH also revealed 71 new recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 560,577.
As to the number of deaths, 8 new deaths were recorded which means that there are now a total of 12,837 fatalities due to COVID-19.
Less the deaths and recoveries, the DOH said there remain 53,479 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
Of the active cases, 92.4 percent mild cases, 4.0 percent asymptomatic cases, 1.4 percent critical cases, 1.4 percent severe cases, and 0.73 percent moderate cases.
The DOH said "nine duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, three are recoveries."
"Moreover, three cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.
The Health department said five labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on March 14, 2021.
