Over 5,000 cases have been added to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country.

The Department of Health on Tuesday, March 23, reported 5,867 new cases bringing the total number of cases to 677,653.
The case bulletin of DOH also showed 620 new recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 578,461.
As to the number of deaths, 20 new deaths were recorded which means that there are now a total of 12,992 fatalities due to COVID-19.
Of the 86,200 active cases, the DOH said 95.4 percent were mild cases, 2.3 percent asymptomatic cases, 0.9 percent critical cases, 0.9 percent severe cases, and 0.49 percent were moderate cases.
"Six duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, one is a recovery," the DOH said.
"Moreover, eight cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it added.
The DOH said nine labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System on Monday, March 22.
