The Department of Health (DOH) reported 19,271 more coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Sunday, Sept. 19.
The country's total case count stood at 2,366,749. Of the total, 7.5 percent or 178,196 are active infections.
Ninety-two percent of the active cases are in mild condition, 3.1 percent are asymptomatic, 0.6 percent are critically ill, 1.4 percent are severe, and 2.60 percent are in moderate condition.
The death toll also climbed to 36,788 — representing 1.55 percent of the case tally — after 205 more people died because of the viral illness.
Meanwhile, 25,037 new survivors were logged. These brought the recovery tally to 2,151,765 or 90.9 percent of the case count.
Adherence to minimum public health standards, good implementation of PDITR strategies, and vaccination remain the most effective defense against COVID-19),” the DOH said.
